Hi Simon,

Was this for promoters you had agreed a guarantee with or are you saying “we’d like 50 quid and a rider”?

hi phil

no-this was for agreed verbals….i don’t want to send poxy contracts as most of these gigs are thru friends/acquaintances etc

re;turncoat oxford-just pay us whatever you can when you’ve sorted your door take/seen how the nights gone etc this was sent in a bit of a rush and i lumped you in to save time-so we’re more than happy to leave it up to you…i understand the pitfalls of promoting only TOO well…

cheers-we will get some people to the oxford date-just booked a travelodge in nearby thame…..oh the joys of touring…

cheers
si

okey dokey – I have to warn you I very much doubt you’d get £50 this gig simply cos it’s such a small venue.

I’m also thinking of adding another local band to the bill (first on) to try and boost the punter count.

I always make sure bands get something if we have covered costs. For instance last night at my gig we had a really low attendance. We took £60.50 on the door and after I paid my doorman £20 it left £40.50 for the bands.

This was split £15/£15/£10 with a mighty 50p left for me (but I DJed at a club later which got me £35 which more than made up for it). I very rarely make money for myself on the night so if you guys end up with £20 or £30 just remember I’ve probably gone home with nothing – or a loss if you count my drinks for the night! I haven’t quite got the hang of this making money from promoting lark!

I will send an email out to everyone this week about gig once I have sorted out a local band for the opening slot.

cheerio

okey dokey. Also, do you have a press photo you could send me? I have broadband so don’t worry about the size of it. The local music newspaper (nightshift) are always trying to get me main previews (which must include photos) so it might be handy.
